March is known as one of the most unpredictable months as regards of the weather. It is changing remarkably fast and the temperatures may vary a lot even within a day. That’s why our aim is to keep you updated with the latest information about the resort in our weekly snow report. During the past week, the weather was nice and sunny. Despite that, the conditions on the slopes remain great. Some good news are coming forward your way! On the 2nd of March, the management of the ski zone at Borovets announced that this season the resort will remain open until the 15th of April.

Slopes & Lifts

During the past week, all the lifts were operating. There are some updates regarding night skiing. It will be open every day from 06:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m on March 14th included. After that, night skiing will be available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays only. The working hours remain the same. On the weekend Gondola lift “Yastrebets” and High-speed quad “Yastrebets Express” opened earlier – at 8 am. Most of the slopes are currently functioning. Sitnyakovo #1 was partially open today and the second part of Sintyakovo #2 and Sitnyakovski pyt was closed. The other non-operating slopes were Cherveno zname, Sport Center Bistritsa, Yastrebets #1 in the lower part of Mid station and Musalenska Pateka. Fonfon and Markudjik 2A were partially closed. As usual during the weekend more people headed towards the mountain. Please, pay attention that the danger of avalanches remains high in the Musala circus.

Snow cover & Forecast

The day temperatures during the week were around 10 – 12 degrees. Likewise the past week we had lots of sunny hours. Saturday started with fog in some parts of the mountain. On Sunday the skiing conditions were more than great. Groomed slopes, sun, and fun! The snow cover remains the same 190 cm at the upper levels and 130 cm at the lower parts of the mountain. On the 6th around 2 cm of fresh snow has fallen. The forecast for the next week predicts temperatures between -3 and -10 degrees. On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday meteorologists are predicting snowfall! More information about the ski conditions in the resort in our next snow report!
