A snow report to kick off the new week with! What a wonderful weekend on the slopes we’ve had. So it definitely deserves to be described in a snow report. Even though it was a bit windy again, the weather was sunny and warmer than the previous days. Of course, such pleasant weather attracts more people and the resort has got quite crowded. Ordinarily, weekends are busier as there are many Bulgarians who arrive from other towns to ski the weekend away.
Lifts & Slopes
Due to the fact that more people are coming on weekends, there were queues for the lifts. Even though, the waiting time was no more than 10-15 minutes. The Markudjik ski runs were open for skiers during the weekend. Unfortunately, the terrain was uneven and icy. Martinovi baraki runs could be described with better conditions, but again with some icy patches. Most of the lifts and slopes were operating during the weekend.
Snow Cover & Forecast
The snow cover in the mountains unfortunately hasn’t increased much since our last snow report. Light snowfall in the highest areas has brought 10 cm of fresh snow. Although, snow cannons continue to work non-stop. The next heavy snowfall (around 50 cm!) in the resort is forecasted for tomorrow evening. Keeping our fingers crossed for more fresh snow!
Avalanche Danger
During the past weekend, few avalanches happened in the mountains and unfortunately, took a victim in Pirin mountain. Experts warn of avalanche danger in the area of Musala Cirque beyond Markudjik 3 Ski Run. For your own safety, please do not go outside the marked ski areas!
