Lots of fresh new snow here in Borovets. It was snowing hard Wednesday through Thursday and during the weekend. And the result is an additional 50-60cm of snow on the mountain. The weather has calmed down though and today was a perfectly sunny day.

Today all of the ski runs were open, except for the Markudjik 3, as there is typically a high avalanche risk on that slope after a snowstorm. The Fon Fon ski run is also open, but not groomed. However any fresh snow on slope is bound to have been skied by the end of the day.

All of the lifts are currently working, except the Markudjik 3 surface lift. The Martinvi Baraka lift started working a few days ago. It was closed for about 10 days for maintenance since the 4th of January. This means that the night skiing is open.

The snow park in front of the Hotel Rila is also open. There you can find two jumps and a few boxes and rails. There was also a big event on the 14th in celebration of World Snow Day.

Here are two shots from the webcameras from today from the Markudjik and Yastrebets ski centers.
