After a week of bluebird days, Monday of this week started with a beautiful snowfall. And frankly, it was about time. While the temperatures remained above 0C during past few days, the forecast for this week predicts low temperatures and snow – just what January is all about.

Slopes & Lifts

Last few days were a prove how quickly weather and skiing conditions can change. From sunny weather and no new snow to cold and heavy snowfall, the conditions in Borovets were pretty diverse during the past week.

Before the snow came back in Bulgaria, the upper part of the resort – Markudjik, provided magnificent views whereas Yastrebets ski area was fantastic in the morning but also rather icy and was probably best for advanced and more confident skiers in the afternoon.

in the lower part, where Sitnyakovo Express and Martinovi baraki lifts operate, slopes were more forgiving and were great for early mornng skiing.

Everyone who was in Borovets on Monday, however, was in for a real threat. Snow was finally back in the oldest Bulgarian ski resort and the night skiing on that day offered fantastic atmosphere with heavy snowfall and very little people on the slopes.
