It has been a while since our latest snow report from the slopes of Borovets, and it is finally here to update you.
Read on to find out how much snow is left in Bulgaria’s oldest ski resort and to learn until what date it is going to be open.

Snow and Slopes

There was 10-15 cm of new snow yesterday and it was a pretty good powder day. The snow machines could not groom the slopes quickly enough. The weather was quite foggy at the top (highest parts of the resort).
Markidjitsi slopes were great over the weekend, especially on Sunday. On the way down to Yastrebets, there were a few puddles just by the Yastrebets top station, snow was soft, however, skiing and snowboarding were still fine and pleasant. Slopes at Markudjitsi were not busy at all, except between 11 am and 1 pm when there was a queue at one of the drag lifts there. Pretty good overall conditions of the snow and the slopes, considering that it is the end of the season.
Today Markudjitsi slopes were expected to be very good, however, they weren’t. The new snow from yesterday (Monday 25.03) had not settled yet, so the ski slopes got dug up pretty quickly. It was cold and cloudy, however, these colder temperatures were not enough to harden the snow. Outside the slopes (off-piste skiing), there is still enough snow for skiing/snowboarding, too. Slope Markudjik 3 is still open.
Borovets ski resort (season 2023/2024) will be officially open until 7th of April for sure. This is all of the official information we have so far from the resort management.
