Borovets winter season continues. Another week’s gone by and yet another snow report is here to inform you about the latest snow and slope conditions in Borovets Ski resort.
Seems like winter is not ready to leave us as quickly as we all thought it would.
Ski winter season is still on. Rumours have it the resort will be open up until the 9th of April, or perhaps up until Easter even. But none of this is confirmed by any of the resort officials, yet.
Weather and forecast
Surprisingly or not, some new snowfall is expected for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and temperatures will be below zero in the early hours of the mornings up until Friday. So we’ll see how this one plays out.
Lifts and Slopes
All lifts are open except for Cabin, Sitnyakovo Express, Markudjik 2; Drag lifts Sitnyakovo, Iglika, Markudjik 0, 1 , 2 and 3 are closed, too. There are no crowds and no queues on any of the working ones.
The only open slopes as of right now are: Rila, Iglika, Rotata, Sitnyakovo road partly, (Easy ones), Cherveno zname (Experts), Martinovi Baraki (Intermediate), Popangelov and Yastrebets 3 (intermediate).
Slopes and Snow
There aren’t any significant changes to the snow conditions and they remain pretty much the same as last week. Slopes are good up until 12pm, then soft and slushy snow was either on Yastrebets and on Martinovi Baraki. Yastrebets 3 and Popangelov on Thursday were probably in their best skiing condition for the past week, and for the whole season one could say. Friday was cold, cloudy and windy, and regardless of the colder temperatures, snow was getting slushied in the afternoons. Most probably resort officials are waiting to see what amount of snow will fall tomorrow and on Wednesday before engaging with a specific date of closure for the resort. And we are all enjoying some of the last good skiing days in Borovets for the winter season 2022/2023.
