The season here in Borovets is in full swing. All of the lifts are open and most ski runs are working. The run “Cherveno Zname” isn’t groomed, but people can still ski it, if they don’t care about their skis and knees too much. The Markudjik runs were also working, regardless of the strong wind that was blowing. Also the lift lines were very small, no big waits. The only place where the line was slower was at the gondola mid-station in the morning.

Borovets, Markudjik Runs

The Markudjik Slopes are open and working

We’ve had some warm weather recently in Bulgaria, which thankfully hasn’t melted the snow and skiing conditions are good. When we were up at the top station the wind was blowing hard so we opted to stick to the lower pistes, which are shielded from most of the wind. On the Yastrebetz Express lift there was no wind, however the lower part of the Popangelov run was closed for some slalom race. This meant that the whole traffic of skiers and snowboards had to cram up on the Yastrebetz 3 run.

In general the slope conditions are great. The snow park was closed for the day, due to another competition – Red Bull Fragments. As far as we know, the park should be back to normal within the next few days.
