This year Borovets will be hosting a round of the Ladies European Cup on the 12th and 13th of February. The format is Giant Slalom and will be held on the Peter Popangelov Ski Run (formally know as Yastrebetz 2). It’s going to be an interesting event with over 80 participants from 15 countries already signed up. This includes the current standings leader Stephanie Brunner and other top athletes. And the  best thing about the Borovets European Cup is that you can watch a lot of the action from the ski lift.

Borovets has a good history with hosting European Cups and this will be the 12th one held here. The last one was the men’s Slalom and Giant Slalom held back in 2014.

Athletes will start arriving on the 10th, but the action starts on the 12th. Here is the program for the event:

12th of February (Friday)

10:30 – 16:00 – Giant Slalom, 2nd runs start at 14:00

18:00 – Award Ceremony

18:30 – 19:00 – Musical Program

21:30 – Party. “After Eleven” club in hotel Rila

13th of February (Saturday)

10:00 – Start of 1st run, Giant Slalom

12:30 – Start of 2nd run, Giant Slalom

15 minutes after the end – Award Ceremony

As the race will be held on the Peter Popangelov ski run, in the Yastrebez Ski Center, you can expect it to be closed during the weekend. For those of you not interested in the race, we would suggest sticking to the other two ski zones – Sitnyakovo Ski Center and Markudjik Ski Center.
