Another work week has passed and some of you will be arriving tomorrow in Borovets for a nice vacation. The good news is that even though today wasn’t the best, it’s starting to snow and next week will be awesome. Were expecting it to snow almost the entire week! But with heavy fog and clouds, today was one of those days to take a day off from skiing. None the less, we got out on the slopes to check how the conditions are.

As normal, during the weekdays this time of the season, there were no big lift lines. At some lifts, we waited up to a maximum of 3-4 minutes. All lifts are working, except the Markudjik 2 and 3 lifts, but after next weeks snowfall they’ll open up soon.

Skiing conditions today were poor due to a heavy fog in the lower parts of the mountain and clouds just above it. There were small windows of time without fog or clouds at the top of the Yastrebets Express lift. It’s rare for both the bottom and top of the mountain to have bad visibility, but today was one of those days. Temperatures were a little high, but have already dropped in anticipation for a snowy week.

Slope conditions are good in the Yastrebets and Sitnyakovo ski centers. The artificial snow cannons have made a good base layer covering the ground and rocks. With the new snow, we can expect the slopes to be even better groomed from tomorrow. New to open this week is the Martinovi Baraki 4 slope, while the Popangelov ski run was closed yesterday and today until 13:30 PM due to races. We advise skipping the Markudjik ski area (except for the Suhar run, which is in perfect condition) until there is a sufficient amount of new snow. There are rocks everywhere there and the Haramia ski run is lacking snow in many areas, making getting to the Yastrebets ski center unpleasant. The Yastrebets 1 ski run is also closed and not groomed. If you want to get from the Yastrebets to Markudjik ski area you’ll need to be careful when skiing down it to take the gondola from the mid station.

Down in Sitnyakovo, it’s busy as usual with the Rotata ski slope in the worst shape of all the green ones there. The snow park has two new features, but should soon have even more. There is a big snowboard demo on the 27th and by then we should see big improvements in the park.
